ravelry!

I finally got my Ravelry invite today! I am very excited :D I've already got quite a bit put up there, including more progress on my Dickinson Pullover.

just for good measure, here are the pics for those of you not on Ravelry:
as you can see, I've finished the second repeat of the big cable, and I'm a little way into the armhole shaping. my gosh, when you get to this point, there are so many things to do at once! I can hardly imagine the number of tracking post-its I'll need for the front when I split the neck :P

(yes, that is my row-counting method. I mark the main cable directly on the chart, I'm tracking the rope cable by using tally marks on a post-it, and I'm tracking the shaping on another post-it. things get pretty crazy when I have to make like three marks for one row :P)

mmm, isn't it pretty? I can't wait to be done with this one!

wh- who are you?!

haha... yes, it's been QUITE some time since I posted here! but I'm so proud of my latest WIP that I had to take pictures and show it off, and the only place I could think to do that was my knitting blog. so here, for your viewing pleasure...

IK Fall '07, Kathy Zimmerman's Dickinson Pullover.Specs:
KnitPicks' Wool of the Andes, in Lake Ice Heather (the colors here are pretty accurate, yay for natural light!)
KP Options circulars, size 9 (luffffffffff)
Smallest size (33-1/2")

look at that stitch definition. nom nom nom. I want to eat it all up.

so that's it! I'm very excited about this sweater. I bought the fall IK just for it. and it's turning out to be a nice quick easy knit. (what? that many cables, easy?) yes, it's actually a pretty simple cable, I likes it. of course, my first cable was an Ensign's Braid pattern on size 2 needles in worsted weight yarn (I only swatched it, but holy cow, not doing THAT again)... haha. I'm such a show-off.

hehe. I can't wait to finish this and wear it! luckily it's only September, and 'round these parts it doesn't get sweater-cold until the end of November, so I have plenty of time to finish this before I'll be able to wear it! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
